Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, Susana Guardado (she/her) immigrated to Northeast Colorado when she was 5 years old. Her advocacy for immigrant and refugee communities began at a young age as she took on the role of interpreter for her family and classmates. This role and other experiences exposed her to the many injustices based on immigration status, race and language. Susana is currently the executive director of OneMorgan County, which addresses access to health, education, economic security and language justice. Along with being in the company of her team at OMC, she enjoys creating art, designing campaigns, spending time with her niece and nephew, and tending to her houseplants.
