As a first-generation U.S. American, Esther Turcios’ (she/her) interests in policy and government have been influenced by her lived experiences as a daughter of immigrant parents. Esther believes in advocating for legislation that uplifts Black, Latinx and Indigenous people and other communities of color. In 2017, after receiving her Master of Social Work degree, she joined the Colorado Fiscal Institute (CFI) team, where she has spearheaded research on federal and state tax policy, safety net programs, and housing and immigration policy in Colorado and across the nation.
