Brittany Winkfield is a native of Denver, Colorado and currently serves as the associate publisher of the Denver Urban Spectrum. Her extensive career in the communications field spans more than 20 years. She was exposed to the publishing industry during high school through an internship program at two local Colorado publications, Aurora Sentinel and 5280 Magazine. An HBCU graduate of Oakwood University (AL), Brittany studied Communications with a concentration in photo and print journalism with internships at VIBE Magazine (NY) and Upscale Magazine (GA). In 2013 she was named journalist of the year by the Colorado Association of Black Journalists (CABJ). Brittany serves on the board of CABJ and Colorado Press Association and is a member of NAACP, Porter-Billups Leadership Academy and the Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado. Brittany loves to travel with her husband and three daughters.
