"Mandy Medrano is a Colorado native and descendant of the Apache, Comanche, Mexican, and Andean Indigenous peoples. With deep roots in Denver's La Alma and Westwood neighborhoods, she has raised three boys and a granddaughter. Mandy has served her community as a health advocate, educator, and organizer for over three decades. She is a member and fire carrier of the Grupo Tlaloc Danza Azteca community, creating safe spaces and events like summer movie nights, public health workshops, and Dia de los Muertos celebrations.
As the Community Arts Coordinator at the Latino Cultural Arts Center (LCAC), Mandy develops programs that honor Denver's diverse Xicanx, Latinx, Native American, and Indigenous groups. She offers monthly programs focused on art and mental wellness, including Day of the Dead in-school programs. Mandy's dedication has fostered a more inclusive Denver, uniting people to celebrate their shared heritage."
