Join the Latino Cultural Arts Center (LCAC) for a workshop combining mental wellness with the Mesoamerican practice of altar-making. Participants will explore the deep connection between cultural heritage and health equity through candle crafting. Each candle, symbolizing resilience and memory, lights a path through grief towards community and celebrating life. This workshop invites participants to honor loved ones, embrace transformation and discover the strength of traditions to promote healing and equity. It offers a space to embark on a journey that honors our ancestors, fostering a healthy relationship with grief while gaining renewed insights into how cultural practices contribute to health equity. We welcome those touched by loss, generational trauma, and injustice, as well as allies looking to contribute to a world where creativity leads the way to justice and healing.
