The Health Symposium isn't just a conference; it's a dynamic space where connections are forged, knowledge flows freely and solutions are inspired. Building on the momentum of last year's theme, which focused on People Powered Transformation, we are excited to introduce this year's theme, (Re)Writing Narratives: Advancing Equity and Justice. Through it, we'll explore how shifting, shaping and expanding narratives can lead to fairer and more inclusive conversations, policies and practices with regard to health equity and racial justice.

Understanding the influence of narratives on society’s beliefs and actions is crucial. Often, prevailing perspectives dictate the narrative landscape, leaving little room for diverse voices and experiences. These narratives can be deeply ingrained and harmful, working to maintain a status quo in which health is kept out of reach for Coloradans with less power and privilege. As advocates for health equity and racial justice, we must question and shift this dynamic and consistently circulate narratives that inform communities while driving progress toward our goals. At this year’s Symposium, we'll tackle these challenges head-on! We will delve into the endurance of harmful narratives and explore the tools available to amplify inclusive, trusted narratives that advance health equity and racial justice.
