Imani Latif (she/her) is the founder and executive director of It Takes a Village, a nonprofit, community-based organization in Aurora with a mission of reducing health and social disparities among people of color in metro Denver. She founded the organization in response to people who felt unwelcome in other agencies and needed a “home away from home” where they could feel comfortable receiving health and social services, particularly around HIV, addiction and mental health. She is a proud recipient of the 2023 Colorado LGBTQ+ Leader Award from the Colorado Diversity Council for her allyship and advocacy over the past 30 years.
