Carmen Medrano (she/her) was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. at 4 years of age. Today, she is the executive director of United for a New Economy (UNE). In this role, she guides the organization to deliver on its mission of building people-power for racial and economic justice. In addition to her work at UNE and several board appointments, she co-chairs Colorado Homes for All, a statewide housing coalition of organizations focused on building a grassroots housing movement for equity and justice for all people. Carmen also co-chairs Together We Thrive, a coalition focused on advancing ballot initiatives that shift resources into housing, education and other basic human rights.
