Vanellope Santibanez (she/her) is the program manager and HIV/STI testing counselor for the TransAction program at It Takes a Village in Aurora. TransAction has provided a safe space, sexual health education, support groups, makeovers, clothing and social events for transgender women of color since 2009. As a transgender woman of color, Vanellope models possibilities and inspires program participants, including women who have experienced trauma, have been released from incarceration and/or are living with HIV.
