Name
Returning to the Breath: Indigenous Sound Bath & Susto Healing Circle
Session Type
Wellness Activity
Description

This immersive healing experience is a sacred invitation to return to yourself-body, spirit, and ancestral memory. Facilitated by an experienced Indigenous Mexican practitioner, this session weaves together sound bath healing with traditional cĂrculo practices rooted in Indigenous Mexican cosmologies. Grounded in the understanding that trauma is not only individual but collective, this circle centers the healing of susto-the soul loss or fragmentation that can occur through fear, violence, displacement, and prolonged stress. Through intentional sound frequencies, guided meditation, prayer, and collective witnessing, participants will be supported in gently calling back the parts of themselves that have been scattered or silenced. The session incorporates traditional elements such as breathwork, invocation of the four directions, use of sacred instruments (including drums, rattles, and singing bowls), and culturally rooted practices that honor the lineage of curanderismo and Indigenous knowledge systems from Mexico. Participants are invited into a communal space of care where vulnerability is met with reverence, and where healing is not rushed, but remembered. This is not a passive sound bath-it is a living circle. Together, we will open our hearts, tend to trauma, and awaken our own inner medicine through collective presence, ancestral guidance, and the transformative power of sound. This offering is especially meaningful for those carrying personal or intergenerational wounds, community leaders holding heavy responsibilities, and anyone seeking reconnection with their spirit, resilience, and joy.
