In a polarized environment, storytelling is a powerful tool and a serious responsibility. This interactive session equips participants to share stories that honor community journeys without reinforcing harm or trauma. Participants will explore core principles of ethical storytelling, learn how to center agency, avoid saviorism, and practice crafting narratives using real-world health equity prompts. Through pair reflections and small-group activities, participants will navigate tensions like authenticity vs. safety and impact vs. exploitation. Attendees will leave with a storytelling toolkit and a renewed understanding of how stories can drive policy, deepen belonging and fortify movements for justice.
