Jose Antonio Vargas is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, and acclaimed immigration advocate. A leading voice for immigrant rights, he founded Define American, named one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies. His bestselling memoir, Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen, chronicles his experience as an undocumented immigrant. He’s produced award-winning projects including Documented and White People (MTV), and is the first known undocumented lead producer on Broadway with Here Lies Love. His work explores identity, citizenship, and belonging, and he’s been featured on TIME’s cover and in the New York Times. Vargas serves on the advisory board for TheDream.US and has received numerous honors for his contributions to immigration discourse and arts activism.
