Name
Heartwired Persuasive Messaging: This is your (audience’s) brain on emotionally complex issues
Session Type
Conference Session
Description

Before we can build support for the issues we champion, we must understand our audience. What happens in a person’s brain when they experience our messaging? How do we leverage this knowledge to develop more effective messaging?

Join experts with decades of experience building winning messaging and narrative strategies on issues such as the freedom to marry, medical aid-in-dying, abortion, housing policies, and COVID vaccine uptake in Colorado. Learn about the Heartwired approach to messaging and key principles for effective communications that you can apply immediately.

This workshop will include hands-on application, discussion, and Q&A, and you’ll leave with concrete strategies for persuading audiences who are key to your success.

 Presenters:

  •  Julia Liao, Strategist and Account Director, Wonder: Strategies for Good
  •  Robert Pérez, Founder and Chief Exploration Officer, Wonder: Strategies for Good
  •  Amy Simon, Founding Partner, Goodwin Simon Strategic Research

  • Understand what’s actually going on in our bodies and brains when we’re having discussions on emotionally complex topics
  • Learn to use the Heartwired approach to understand our audiences and their emotional, psychological, and informational needs
  • Practice actionable strategies for using the Heartwired approach to communicate persuasively with key audiences and equip them to arrive at support for our issues
