Frequently Asked Questions
Understanding the influence of narratives on society’s beliefs and actions is crucial. Often, prevailing perspectives dictate the narrative landscape, leaving little room for diverse voices and experiences. These narratives—whether from news headlines, cultural media or political influencers—can be deeply ingrained and harmful, working to maintain the status quo. As advocates for health equity and racial justice, we must question and shift this dynamic and consistently circulate narratives that inform communities while driving progress toward our goals.
At the 2024 Colorado Health Symposium, we'll tackle these challenges head-on, delving into the endurance of harmful cultural narratives and examining how our rapidly evolving information ecosystem keeps them alive. From local news to cultural media to emerging technologies like AI, we'll explore the tools available to amplify inclusive, trusted narratives. Join us as we navigate this complex landscape together, equipping ourselves and our communities to attain the best outcomes through informed, accurate, inclusive narratives that advance health equity and racial justice.
